Hamworthy and Upton
A short stroll over the lifting bridge brings visitors to Hamworthy. Separated from Poole Town by the backwater channel, Hamworthy has a more relaxed, suburban vibe and a predominance of post-war housing. Hamworthy Park is a hidden gem, with its own harbour beach, extensive playing fields and stunning views. The many bungalows are popular with retired buyers, although more recent developments like Harbour Reach are extending the range of accommodation with waterside apartments and family houses. Beyond Hamworthy, Upton offers a range of family-sized properties on the western edge of the conurbation, with easy access to open country, Wareham and the Purbeck Hills beyond.
